Hi y'all! My name is Tida (she/her) and I'm going to be an incoming junior. I'm majoring in Psychology and minoring in Gender Studies. Some of my hobbies are doing arts and crafts, cleaning/organizing, listening to music, watching anime or K-dramas, and spending time with my cat (Sasha). I'm really nervous about being a junior in the fall, mostly because that means I'll have one more year until I graduate... The future seems super daunting to me, despite the enormous confidence I've been able to create for myself up until now. I am still excited to make new friends and take interesting courses!

For my summer experience, I've decided to change things up a little bit. Initially, I was going to read informational books about gender and cultural identity, but after taking Gender and Young Adolescent Novels last term, I've decided to read YA books that concern LGBTQ and cultural intersectionality. With these books, I will be examining how topics such as mental health, "chosen" family, race, sexuality, gender, and possibly more. Alongside the novels, I will be volunteering with 7 Cups, an emotional support text line, specifically focusing on clients/individuals seeking support pertaining to cultural, racial, and sexual identity. For this volunteer opportunity, I will be keeping a personal journal (rather than blogging about it; for confidentiality reasons). Lastly, I will also include articles I come across that relate to these topics to help educate myself on the various experiences and perspectives of those in the LGBTQ community.

I would like to make known that I will be on vacation from June 30 to July 14 and will be unable to work on this project during that time.
